  Filipino references in Finding Nemo

  pixarmovies:

  There were a lot of Filipinos working on the movie “Finding Nemo” and they decided to make references to their culture in the movie.

  • P. Sherman is actually “fisherman” in a heavy Filipino accent.
  • The small hut in the aquarium tank where Nemo sleeps in is called a “kubo,” a nipa hut commonly found throughout farms in the Philippines.
  • Philippine’s Mount Mayon was the inspration for Mount Wannahawkaloogie (the mountain in the fish tank)
